As the jewelry manufacturing industry continues to evolve, leadership requires balancing long-term values with the ability to adapt to change. In this interview, Regal Jewelry CEO Ms. Rinrada Chinnapornsombat reflects on the challenges and opportunities shaping today's industry, sharing her perspectives on manufacturing, sustainability, collaboration, and the principles that continue to guide her approach to leadership.

Q: The jewelry industry is evolving rapidly. How do you view the current environment, and what challenges matter most for manufacturers and brand partners today?

A: “The jewelry manufacturing industry has changed significantly during my time as CEO of Regal Jewelry. What was once seen as a relatively conservative and traditional trade has become far more dynamic, with rising expectations around quality, transparency, sustainability, and ethical responsibility.

What stands out most today is the level of complexity in the operating environment. Global conflicts, supply chain disruption, cost volatility, and shifting market expectations are increasingly interconnected, requiring manufacturers to respond with greater agility, discipline, and long-term thinking.

At the same time, the jewelry and demi‑fine market is becoming more polarized and more demanding. Brands must protect their identity, manage inventory carefully, and respond quickly to changing consumer preferences, all while maintaining commercial discipline. Higher material costs and ongoing supply pressures leave little room for error in pricing and product decisions.

In this environment, the role of a manufacturing partner becomes even more important. Our focus is on helping partners translate market realities into the right product strategy, developing competitive, attractive collections that align with their brand positioning, support their pricing logic, and deliver lasting value. Despite these challenges, our approach remains grounded in our core values, openness to change, and continuous improvement in support of a more responsible and resilient future.”

Q: At Regal, why are discipline, consistency, and accountability so central to the way the company operates?

A: “In manufacturing, discipline and consistency are fundamental because they create the conditions for trust. They enable an organization to operate reliably, align people and processes effectively, meet commitments, and uphold its standards over time.

At Regal, this is especially important because we work with precious metals, gemstones, and diamonds, materials that carry both significant value and a high level of responsibility. In that context, discipline is not only about efficiency; it is what allows us to maintain traceability, transparency, and accountability throughout the manufacturing process. Those principles are essential in giving customers confidence that what we deliver reflects the quality, integrity, and value they expect.

Accountability also requires more than a single initiative; it must be embedded into everyday operations. One of the most important ways we achieve this is through transparency and ongoing communication with our partners, ensuring that expectations, progress, and responsibilities remain clearly aligned throughout the manufacturing process.

We have also established systems to monitor and support our sustainability commitments, while engaging independent third-party organizations to audit and verify our performance against sustainability, social compliance, and other recognized industry standards. Strong systems and clear standards also help ensure that people are treated fairly, paid correctly, and supported within a responsible working environment. That commitment is reflected in the standards we uphold through our RJC, Sedex, and amfori BSCI certifications. Ultimately, discipline, consistency, and accountability are central to how we operate because they help us build a sustainable company grounded in trust, responsibility, ethical practice, and long-term value creation.”

Q: Looking ahead, what principles do you believe will continue to shape Regal’s future and your own approach to leadership?

A: “In times of uncertainty and rapid change, I believe one of the most important principles is maintaining an open mindset toward collaboration. There is a tremendous amount of expertise across different industries, and valuable insights can often come from outside our traditional field. Being willing to learn from others, exchange knowledge, and explore new perspectives creates opportunities for growth and improvement.

Adaptability is equally important. As the industry continues to evolve, manufacturers must be willing to embrace new ideas, technologies, and ways of working. For example, we have begun incorporating IoT systems into our operations to improve efficiency, strengthen production consistency, and provide better visibility into our performance. These advancements support our broader commitment to accountability and continuous improvement.

Looking back on my journey with Regal Jewelry, the two principles that continue to guide me most are passion and discipline. Passion is essential in any meaningful endeavor because it provides purpose, while discipline provides consistency. Discipline has been especially important in helping us navigate change and uncertainty. External conditions will always evolve, and many factors remain beyond our control. What we can control is how we respond, how we maintain our standards, support our partners, and continue improving as an organization.

Most importantly, none of this is achieved alone. The ability to work together, learn from one another, and adapt to new opportunities will continue to shape the future of jewelry manufacturing. For me, leadership is about creating an environment where these values can be practiced consistently over time, and I remain deeply grateful to the Regal team for their dedication, resilience, and commitment throughout that journey.”

Ms. Rinrada Chinnapornsombat’s reflections underscore the principles that shape Regal Jewelry: discipline, accountability, collaboration, and a long-term commitment to responsible craftsmanship.
